Starting a university bachelor's degree course

 

To apply for admission to the Catalan public universities or the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, you should pre-enrol on Accesnet, and submit the relevant documentation to the University Admissions Office or one of its sub-offices before the deadline in the pre-enrolment calendar.

To apply for admission to the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) or a private university, you should contact them directly: Ramon Llull University, International University of Catalonia, Abat Oliba University CEU.

Bear in mind that if your chosen degree course requires a personal aptitude test (PAP), you must first enrol and take the test in June.

Find out all you need to know about the bachelor's degree courses offered at the Catalan universities; what they entail, their structure, where they are taught, cut-off marks from previous years and career options, and the centres where you can pre-enrol.

To apply for admission (Qualifications obtained in education systems in states that are members of the European Union or with whom Spain has signed international agreements of reciprocity. International Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate) to the Catalan public universities or the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, you should pre-enrol before the deadline on Accesnet.

You must provide proof of previous qualifications to pre-enrol:

  • You should apply for proof for university admission to UNEDassis. The university entrance mark is a maximum of 10 points.
  • You can improve your university entrance mark, by a maximum of 4 points, in one of two ways:
    - Take specific phase subjects in the university entrance exams (PAU) at any university in Spain. For Catalonia, see calendar for enrolment for these subjects. Further information.
    - Take UNED's PCE (specific skill tests).

You can find information on the subjects that are weighted to improve the university entrance mark for Catalan public universities and the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia in the weighting table.

To apply for admission to the Catalan public universities or the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, you should pre-enrol before the deadline on Accesnet.

You must provide proof of previous qualifications to pre-enrol:

  • Applications for official recognition of qualifications should be made to the Catalan Ministry of Education or the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. The mark recognised corresponds to the average mark for Batxillerat (upper secondary school qualification).
  • University entrance (university pre-enrolment) can be obtained in the following ways:
    - Take the university entrance exams (PAU) at any university in Spain. For Catalonia, see calendar for enrolment for these subjects. Further information.
    - Take UNED's PCE (specific skill tests). In this case you should contact UNEDassis, which manages admissions. In order to attend one of the Catalan public universities or the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, you need to pass at least two PCE subjects.
  • You can improve your university entrance mark, by a maximum of 4 points by:
    - Taking specific phase subjects in the university entrance exams (PAU) at any university in Spain. For Catalonia, see calendar for enrolment for these subjects. Further information.

Students may also be admitted based only on their average recognised Batxillerat (upper secondary school) mark, but these students may only enrol in September, and for courses with vacant places, once students who have passed the university entrance exams have taken their places.
