In addition to its annual conference, the European Association for International Education (EAIE) organises various events throughout the year. An EAIE Spotlight Seminar is planned for 1 and 2 April 2019. At this interactive seminar, six papers will be presented that discuss the challenges facing higher education institutions in preparing the growing number of graduates who need to develop in a globalised world and require tools, resources and strategies for employability in an increasingly demanding labour market.
Graduate employability and international education: towards the future of work
There is an increasing demand for higher education among students. In this context, institutions face the challenges for students’ training and employability in the future labour market.
At this Spotlight Seminar, participants will discuss the challenges, strategies and actions that need to be considered, the skills required for success and to meet the demands of the labour market, and the prospects facing future generations of workers in this rapidly changing society. Governments and education institutions need to present proposals for improving skill levels, exploring and analysing trends and examining existing programmes and practices in European universities to ensure graduates have the knowledge, attributes and attitudes that will help them become successful professionals. These strategies are vitally important for the effective future employability of students and to guarantee access and inclusion for all.
