The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) is a non-profit international association founded in 2004 at the University of Korea in Seoul and comprising university representatives from thirteen Asia-Pacific countries or regions.

APAIE Conference & Exhibition 2018. The APAIE's annual conference is the most important gathering in the Asia-Pacific region for professionals and experts in the field of education. The aim is to promote cross-border cooperation, enhance research and encourage and facilitate exchange in matters of higher education in Asia, the regions of the Pacific and the world. It also seeks to promote the internationalisation of its academic institutions and provide them with support. It is a large-scale exhibition with over 1,000 delegates from around the world and around 100 exhibitors.
The Nanyang Technological University, the Singapore Management University and the Singapore University of Technology and Design, under the direction of the National University of Singapore, will welcome their distinguished guests to the 13th annual conference of the APAIE, which will be held from 25 to 29 March 2018 in Singapore.
The theme of the APAIE 2018 Conference will be: ‘The Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Higher Education in the Asia-Pacific’. Higher education is one of the basic pillars of society and will have to respond to economic change in a world that will be radically different in the future. Technological advances will impact on internationalisation in higher education, empowering future-ready graduates to address global challenges, with new forms of engagement and mobility, international research competition and collaboration.
The event will include pre-conference workshops, exhibitions, keynotes, parallel sessions, networking activities and visits to local universities.
The first time the Catalan university system participated in the annual conference of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) was in 2013 in Hong Kong. The following year it went to Seoul (South Korea), then to Beijing (China) in 2015, Melbourne (Australia) in 2016 and Kaohsiung (Taiwan) in 2017. In 2018, in Singapore, it will be attending the conference for the sixth time.
